We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to animals in a veterinary clinic setting. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both staff and patients.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, including oral and injectable medications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising as needed.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with team members and pet owners.
- Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Monitor animals recovering from surgery or critical care situations, providing necessary support.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-treatment care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential for effective communication within the team.
- Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques is a plus.
- Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in medication administration and animal restraint techniques are required.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and team members.
