Job Summary
We are looking for friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Servers to join our team at a new restaurant. As a Server, you will be the face of our establishment, responsible for creating positive, memorable dining experiences for every guest. You’ll greet customers, take accurate orders, serve food and beverages efficiently, and ensure tables are maintained throughout the meal. This fast-paced role requires multitasking, strong communication, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests promptly and warmly when assisting with hosting duties, or ensure smooth handoff from host/hostess.
- Present menus, explain any specials, answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, using Toast POS to input orders and communicate special requests to the kitchen and bar.
- Serve food and drinks in a timely manner, ensuring correct items are delivered to the right tables.
- Check back with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction, refill beverages, and address any needs or concerns.
- Anticipate guest needs, handle special requests (e.g., modifications, allergies), and resolve issues professionally and quickly.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently between guests, maintaining a clean and inviting dining area.
- Process payments accurately, including handling cash, credit cards, and splitting checks when needed.
- Thank guests for dining with us, invite them to return, and build rapport to encourage repeat visits.
- Perform opening/closing side work (e.g., rolling silverware, stocking stations, cleaning menus, pre-bussing tables, etc.).
- Collaborate with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Age 18+.
- Previous experience as a Server in a full-service, sit-down restaurant preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while staying calm under pressure.
- Excellent memory for orders, table numbers, and guest preferences.
- Basic math skills for accurate check handling and cash transactions.
- Familiarity with Toast is a plus; willing to train the right candidate.
- Food Handler’s certification or willingness to obtain one.
- BASSET certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry trays/plates (up to 25–40 lbs), and perform repetitive motions.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication and problem-solving skills.
