Duties
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs (gasoline and diesel), transmission system repairs, suspension system adjustments, wheel alignments, tire installations and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics accurately to facilitate precise repairs and installations.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, or replace vehicle components with attention to quality and safety standards.
- Repair or replace vehicle components such as powertrain parts, vehicle suspension systems and electrical wiring.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations while providing excellent customer service through clear communication about repair needs and timelines.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with dealership or independent shops preferred; strong background in automotive repair is essential.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using advanced diagnostic tools; experience with schematics interpretation is highly valued.
- Solid mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, electrical systems and suspension components.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, tires, wheel alignments, and system calibrations.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair and the use of automotive electrical systems is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
