Position Summary
Galaxy Food Center is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Meat Department Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting customers, stocking and maintaining meat cases, packaging products, ensuring food safety standards are followed, and helping maintain a clean and organized department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service and assist customers with product selection.
- Package, label, and stock fresh meat products.
- Rotate product to ensure freshness and minimize shrink.
- Maintain attractive and fully stocked meat displays.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
- Clean equipment, work areas, and department fixtures.
- Assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries.
- Operate scales, wrappers, and other department equipment safely.
- Work collaboratively with department team members and management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous grocery, retail, or meat department experience preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and food safety procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in refrigerated environments.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.

Previous meat cutting experience is a bonus but is not required.

- Maintain attractive and fully stocked meat displays.
- Assist with grinding, cutting, and processing meat products as trained.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Help manage inventory and reduce shrink.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and department fixtures.
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries.
- Work as part of a team to ensure department goals are met.
Qualifications
- Previous grocery, retail, or food service experience preferred.
- Previous meat cutting skills are a plus and will be considered a bonus.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in refrigerated conditions.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
