Berts Towing, Inc. has been serving NW Indiana and the Chicagoland area since 1956 and we are growing! To meet the demand we are expanding our team and are looking for:
- Light Duty Tow Truck Operators
- Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operators

Candidates must have a flexible schedule, and be able to work on call shifts. All candidates must be able to meet FMCSA/DOT requirements for Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers; including drug-test, DOT Physical, background check, and have a clean driving record.
Candidates must have a valid liscense:
- Light Duty: Indiana For-Hire (or other state equivalent)
- Heavy Duty: Class A CDL, and able to operate 13-speed manual transmission.
Primary Duties:
Light Duty:
- Operation of a flat bed tow truck
- Tow, transport, recovery of vehicles & equipment
- Winch outs
- Jump starts
- Tire changes
- Assist on Heavy Duty accident recovery
- Associated tasks
Heavy Duty:
- Operation of a Heavy Wrecker
- Tow, transport, recovery of vehicles & equipment (tractors, tractor/trailer combos, box trucks, etc.)
- Winch outs
- Jump starts
- Heavy Duty accident recovery
- Trans loads
- Load shifts
- Associated tasks
Additional Duties:
- Basic Vehicle Maintenance
- Stocking of supplies
- Cleaning the shop

Successful candidates must possess a strong work ethic and be a self-starter; demonstrating self-control and an ability to manage time, prioritize goals, decide what must be done, and be accountable to complete necessary tasks. Good customer service and communication skills are a must.
Minimum 1 year experience in the towing industry is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate(s).
