Step into a vital role supporting students’ growth and development in a dynamic school environment near Minneapolis, MN. We are searching for dedicated Occupational Therapists for three exciting contract opportunities, including two full-time positions and one long-term substitute opening (dates for substitute role to be determined). This assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, providing the chance to truly make an impact over the course of the academic year.
In this position, you’ll work exclusively within a single school building, serving a caseload of 20 to 40 students, primarily those in Setting 4 (highly specialized programs focused on students with significant needs). Drawing on your expertise in pediatric and school-based OT, you’ll collaborate closely with educational teams to facilitate greater student participation and independence.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in Minnesota
- Previous experience supporting children in school-based OT settings strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Ability to develop creative, individualized intervention plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for engaging students from diverse backgrounds
Your key responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services based on IEPs
- Monitor progress and update documentation per school and regulatory requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating on student supports and accommodations
- Foster student independence in academic, social, and self-care skills
- Partner with teachers and staff to integrate OT strategies into the classroom
This contract assignment features 37.5 hours per week with a consistent caseload and building assignment, allowing you to focus on impactful, relationship-based work.
