This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
This position manages and provides department-wide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Mn/DOT’s procurement, purchasing card, consumable inventory, systems and other materials management functions. This position provides department-wide policy, guidance and direction related to all aspects of the materials management function. This position serves as liaison to the Department of Administration, Office of State Procurement (OSP) and Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB), to influence decisions and maintain a mutually supportive relationship.

Three years of professional supervisory (supervising professional employees) demonstrating experience in the areas noted below; OR, four years of advanced professional experience demonstrating experience in the areas noted below:

Experience with a government procurement system, commodity and service contracting, and inventory (consumable and fixed) control procedures;

Experience with materials management sufficient to consult, solve problems, create processes, policies associated with hazardous materials handling, recycling programs, safety equipment and supplies;

Experience interpreting and consulting on policies sufficient to review, update and develop business policies;
-
Budget analysis experience sufficient to oversee section budget and staffing budget;
-
Experience serving as a project leader or lead worker, demonstrating ability to successfully motivate and direct the work of other professional staff.

Supervisory or lead worker experience;
-
Experience with MnDOT core business processes.
