We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Automotive Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and precision. Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of automotive parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers and other vendors to ensure timely procurement and competitive pricing.
- Utilize ERP systems and order management software to track inventory levels, process purchase orders, and monitor supply chain performance.
- Coordinate logistics for shipping & receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient movement of parts.
- Implement demand planning strategies to forecast parts needs accurately, reducing stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Oversee warehouse management activities including layout optimization, equipment repair (such as forklifts), and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with automotive service teams to understand their parts requirements and support their workflow with prompt delivery.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure quality standards are met and negotiate favorable terms to maximize cost savings.
- Maintain detailed records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), AS400 systems, or similar platforms for inventory control and procurement tracking.
- Support dealership or shop operations by providing exceptional customer service related to parts inquiries or issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry or dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and OEM parts specifications.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP software, and order management tools such as AS400 or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated ability in procurement management, negotiation skills, and sourcing strategies for automotive parts.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair, auto body work, HVAC systems, or equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Experience with inventory management practices including demand planning, inventory control, shipping & receiving procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail; ability to analyze supply chain data for continuous improvement.
