We’re looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in delivering high-quality work. This is far more than a driving position. As a Retail Display Delivery & Installation Specialist, you’ll be responsible for transporting, installing, servicing, and repairing custom retail displays throughout Southern California while serving as a professional representative of Ivar’s Display.
Every day is different—you might be delivering custom display systems to a new retail location, installing store fixtures, performing field repairs, surveying a future project, or assisting our Operations team in preparing the next day’s deliveries.
What You’ll Do:
Retail Display Installation
- Assemble, install, level, align, and secure custom retail displays and store fixtures according to work orders and project drawings.
- Install merchandising fixtures using approved anchoring systems, including Tee-Nuts, lag bolts, earthquake restraints, wall anchors, and specialty hardware.
- Verify dimensions, clearances, and installation requirements before beginning work.
- Photograph completed installations and document completed work.
- Ensure every installation meets Ivar’s quality standards before leaving the job site.
Delivery & Transportation
- Safely operate company bobtail trucks throughout Southern California.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload custom retail displays and merchandising fixtures.
- Navigate commercial delivery routes including downtown business districts, shopping centers, and customer receiving docks.
- Coordinate deliveries with store managers, receivers, and project contacts.
- Utilize route management software (OptimoRoute) and mobile applications to document deliveries, customer notes, and photographic verification.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain clean, professional company vehicles.
Field Service & Repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair custom retail displays in the field.
- Replace graphics, shelving, locks, hardware, tracks, rollers, casters, bumpers, and damaged components.
- Perform laminate, edge banding, trim, and cosmetic touch-ups.
- Complete minor electrical and mechanical repairs when required.
- Identify issues requiring additional fabrication or shop repairs and communicate findings to the Operations team.
Site Surveys & Project Measurements
- Perform accurate field measurements for future retail display installations.
- Measure walls, ceilings, display areas, aisles, doorways, and customer access points.
- Create templates and field patterns using approved measuring methods.
- Identify installation challenges before fabrication begins to ensure successful project execution.
Warehouse & Operations Support
When not working in the field, you’ll assist with:
- Preparing and staging customer orders
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Organizing installation hardware and tools
- Inventory control and material handling
- Packaging and protecting finished displays
- General warehouse operations
- Maintaining company vehicles, trailers, and installation equipment

Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating larger commercial vehicles or bobtail trucks is preferred.
- Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ability to accurately read tape measurements and basic project drawings.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, climb ladders, work overhead, and perform physical installation work throughout the day.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Retail fixture installation
- Custom retail display installation
- Store fixture merchandising
- Cabinet installation
- Finish carpentry
- Millwork
- Commercial delivery
- Construction
- Handyman or maintenance work
- Field service technician
- Warehouse operations
- Forklift operation (or willingness to become certified)
Tools & Equipment You’ll Use
You’ll regularly work with professional installation equipment including:
- Circular saws
- Routers
- Jigsaws
- Oscillating multi-tools
- Drill motors
- Impact drivers
- Heat guns
- Glue guns
- Laser levels
- Tape measures
- Hand tools
- Pallet jacks and material handling equipment
Training will be provided on company-specific procedures and equipment.
