Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards
- Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or specialized equipment such as roll-off trucks or dump trucks
- Transport various types of cargo including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials, or dangerous goods while maintaining proper documentation and safety procedures
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel consumption
- Comply with all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations and DOT requirements during transportation and loading/unloading processes
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and maintenance needs are addressed promptly
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, delivery statuses, and inspection reports in accordance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with freight deliveries
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload procedures
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
