The Inn is excited to announce a job opening for a Special Needs Worker. This is a full-time position located onsite, as it is not a remote job. As a Special Needs Worker at The Inn, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the daily lives of our residents, enabling them to achieve greater independence, dignity, and social inclusion.
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and dependable Special Needs Support Worker to provide high-quality, individualized care and assistance to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and/or physical disabilities. This position focuses on supporting clients in their everyday lives—both at home and in the community—by helping them achieve greater independence, dignity, and social inclusion.

Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.

Perform light housekeeping duties and prepare meals.

Provide medication reminders and support with other health-related needs.

Accompany clients to medical appointments, community events, recreational activities, educational programs, and social outings.

Support clients in staying actively involved and engaged in their communities.

Teach and reinforce life skills such as cooking, budgeting, time management, and appropriate social behaviors.

Build trusting relationships with clients and their families.

Work effectively as part of a care team, follow individualized care and behavior support plans.

Respond appropriately to a variety of emotional and behavioral needs.

Handle challenging behaviors or crisis situations in a calm, professional manner.

Work independently and under supervision in a reliable and organized manner.

Assist with client mobility and transportation needs, requiring a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Demonstrated patience, empathy, emotional resilience, and strong problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to establish and maintain effective, compassionate communication with clients and their families.

Experience in caregiving, direct support, or a special education setting is highly valued.

Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.

Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.

Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring clients as needed.

Training in CPR and First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory, as training can be provided.

A genuine interest in working with individuals with special needs, promoting inclusion and human dignity.

Flexible availability, including the ability to work full-time, part-time, and weekend shifts as needed to meet client needs.

High school diploma or equivalent; further education in fields related to special needs care is a plus.

Must pass a background check and drug screening where applicable.

Previous participation in related workshops or certification programs preferred.
