Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook and plate dishes efficiently while maintaining quality standards and presentation
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, fryers, slicers, and food prep tools
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces in compliance with safety standards in production
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timely meal delivery
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant kitchens with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knife skills with precise slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Understanding of food safety standards in production, handling, and storage practices
- Experience with menu planning, food industry standards, and culinary techniques is highly desirable
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
