Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industries, including transportation, construction, and agriculture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment such as concrete mixer trucks, front end loaders and must have some plant maintenance experience , contributing to the smooth operation of our fleet and equipment assets.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes (including air brakes)
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and general inspections to prevent future issues.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools and welding techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
- Have some knowledge of concrete boom pump and hydraulic repair.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced or repaired.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
- Experience is highly desirable for understanding manufacturer specifications and advanced systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals to guide repairs.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including concrete mixer trucks , concrete plants, forklifts, and front end loaders.
- Knowledge of transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and tire service procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, service tech equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills for interacting with clients or team members.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting heavy parts or equipment regularly.
