We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who wants to build a long-term career in the construction industry. No estimating experience is required. We will provide hands-on training.
Position Summary:
As an Entry-Level Estimator, you will work directly with company leadership to learn all aspects of estimating asphalt and concrete projects. This is a career opportunity for someone who is organized, eager to learn, and willing to take ownership of their work.
You will be trained on how to:
- Read construction plans and specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Calculate materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Prepare professional proposals
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Track bid opportunities and project schedules
- Assist with project management and job costing
- Learn industry standards, construction methods, and pricing
QualificationsRequired:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and professionalism
- Ability to learn quickly
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Valid California driver’s license
Preferred but not Required:
- Construction background
- Experience reading plans
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft word
