About Ecojohn
Ecojohn manufactures wastewater incinerator systems and incinerating toilets — mobile restroom solutions designed for remote job sites, off-grid living, RVs, and developments without access to standard septic or treatment plants. We're looking for a Junior Engineer to support product design, manufacturing, and controls work across our incinerating toilet and wastewater system lines.
Job Summary
The Junior Engineer works across mechanical design, manufacturing support, and electrical/controls tasks to help build and improve Ecojohn's incinerator and mobile restroom products. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong computer skills who is eager to learn across multiple engineering disciplines in a small manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
· Assist in designing and revising mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software
· Support production and assembly processes, helping troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the shop floor
· Help develop and document wiring diagrams, control layouts, and low voltage system schematics
· Create and maintain bills of materials, drawings, and technical documentation
· Analyze test data and prepare reports using spreadsheets and engineering software
· Collaborate with production, service, and leadership teams to improve product design and reliability
· Support prototyping, testing, and quality checks for new and existing products
· Research components, materials, and suppliers as needed
Qualifications
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
· Strong computer skills, including CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and Microsoft Office/Excel
· Basic understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes
· Exposure to electrical or low voltage systems (12V/24V DC) a plus
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple small projects
Willingness to learn and work hands-on in a manufacturing environment
