Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, ensuring their comfort and security during transit. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or other commercial vehicle according to established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
- Manage passenger behavior effectively, addressing any issues that may arise in a calm and professional manner.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed, especially for children or individuals with disabilities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and incidents as required by company policy.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Stay informed about traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies related to transportation services.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
- Non CDL options are available with a clean driving record
- Experience in school bus driving or paratransit services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation and maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent behavior management skills to maintain a positive environment on the bus.
- Previous experience in childcare or working with children is advantageous.
- Multilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse passengers.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with passengers of all ages.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations professionally.
