Position Overview
The Receptionist / Insurance Verification Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations. This position requires strong communication skills, accuracy, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Reception
- Greet patients warmly and create a positive first impression
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow
- Check patients in and out efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Provide excellent customer service and assist with general inquiries
Insurance Verification & Billing Support
- Verify vision and medical insurance benefits prior to appointments
- Communicate coverage details to patients clearly and professionally
- Assist with billing tasks and claims submission as needed
- Work closely with the doctor and staff to ensure accurate documentation
Office Support
- Use modern office and optometry technology (training provided)
- Assist with administrative tasks to support smooth office operations
- Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient, patient‑centered environment
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
- Previous experience in reception, medical office, or insurance verification preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
