Java Developer – Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Java‑based applications that meet customer requirements and specifications.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure continuous application reliability.
- Drive full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, delivering high‑quality releases on schedule.
- Create and manage database ER diagrams and data models (conceptual, logical, and physical).
- Produce detailed software designs and lead code‑review sessions to enforce best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (minimum).
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
- 5+ years of SQL development and performance tuning experience.
- Proficiency with the full JEE stack (Core Java, JDBC, JSP/Servlets).
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and MS‑SQL stored procedures.
- Ability to configure and use the Spring Framework.
- Front‑end skills: JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5.
- Experience with version control systems (SVN or Git) and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
- Familiarity with issue‑tracking tools such as Jira.
- Strong data‑modeling skills (conceptual, logical, and physical design).
- Enterprise‑level JEE application development experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for creating design and engineering documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SOAP and/or RESTful Web Services.
- Experience handling large databases (Oracle and MS‑SQL) and high‑volume data processing.
- Demonstrated ability to tune database performance.
