Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports our physicians and clinical team in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care. This role blends direct patient care, cardiology-specific diagnostic testing, and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, and medical history
- Perform and prepare patients for 12-lead EKGs, Holter and event monitor hook-ups and removals, and assist with stress tests and echocardiogram scheduling
- Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice
- Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Manage medication refill requests, prior authorizations, and referrals
- Triage patient phone calls and relay clinical messages to providers
- Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and follow infection-control protocols
- Coordinate with the front desk on scheduling, check-in, and follow-up appointments
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, daytime clinic hours
- No nights, weekends, or major holidays
