Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures
- Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Ensure safe patient lifting practices during transfers and manual handling to prevent injury for both residents and staff
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and meal preparation
- Observe and report changes in residents’ behavior or health status promptly to the healthcare team
Qualifications
- Prior assisted living experience or background in nursing home, retirement home, or residential care settings preferred
- Experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s care, or memory care needs
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification, and safe patient lifting practices required
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car for transportation purposes is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics highly valued
