Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures with excellent customer service skills
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and documentation review for accurate billing and coding
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing information and scheduling support while demonstrating strong phone etiquette
- Manage administrative tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records
Experience
- Prior experience working as a medical or dental receptionist in a clinical setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical billing practices
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) management systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers’ procedures
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience managing office equipment like multi-line phones and filing systems
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Previous clinic or hospital experience demonstrating excellent patient service skills and office management capabilities
