UPMC is seeking a dedicated Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join our dynamic Histology Lab team. This full-time position is perfect for someone passionate about contributing to life-changing medicine in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Position Details:

Shift: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Location: Clinical Lab Building in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, near UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate role (Histotechnician or Histotechnologist) and salary level based on experience and education.

The Histotechnologist role starts at $26.30 per hour.

We’re excited to offer sign-on bonuses for qualified Histo Techs who join our team:
- $15,000 for those with 0–1 year of experience with a 2-year full-time commitment
- $20,000 for those with 1+ years of experience with a 2-year full-time commitment
Plus, earn an additional $10,000 upon completion of your third year of employment.
Sign-on bonuses are also available for part-time positions and will be prorated based on commitment.

Successful completion of bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry.
One year of clinical histology laboratory experience post training if not a graduate of accredited training program required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- American Society Clinical Pathology Histotechnologist- HTL (ASCP) certification required within 12 months of hire.

American Society Clinical Pathology Histology Technician (HT) certification from ASCP is required within 18 months of hire.
