Blue Horizon Sign and Signal is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare bid packages, conceptual estimates, analyze subcontractor bids for Highway Lighting, Traffic Signals, Highway signs and structures, commercial lighting and parking lot lighting. This person will maintain accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written materials, price lists, etc. They will also work with owners, A/Es, and the project team to resolve technical matters during negotiation and project construction. Prepares cost estimates for change orders.
Responsibilities
- Attend site visits, prepare cost estimates and proposals for projects
- Responsible for all phases of completing estimates and budgets
- Make bid presentations, along with management, to potential customers
- Utilize HCSS Heavy Bid software in preparing estimates
- Promote estimates into job accounting software
- Provide support to projects/tasks managed by subordinate member of the estimating group
- Work with project managers to prepare change orders and extra work pricing
- Maintain client relations
- Negotiate change orders
- Supervise individuals in subordinate roles
- Provide expertise in project scope, technical approach, resource allocation.
Qualified persons will have 3-5 years experience as an electrical estimator.
