Position Summary
The Caregiver provides direct resident care in an assisted living community, supporting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life. This position works collaboratively with nursing and leadership staff to ensure a safe, compassionate, and engaging environment for all residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Provide medication reminders (or assist with medications per state regulations and certification)
- Assist with transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics
- Serve meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition to supervisor
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Respond promptly to call lights and emergency situations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous caregiver or healthcare experience preferred but not required
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents (up to 50 lbs or more with assistance)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
Work Environment
- Assisted living community setting
- May include weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
