THE POSITION:
The Door Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing door assemblies in both new and existing commercial facilities.
THE LOCATION:
The office is based in Lakeland, Florida, and provides services throughout the Southeast. Some travel is required for this position.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicating with customers in a professional manner
- Following inspection guidelines and procedures, including accurately identifying and documenting deficiencies in accordance with NFPA standards
- Completing repairs to doors, frames, hardware, and related components to ensure compliance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105
- Adjusting doors (including shimming) and installing approved products to ensure proper code compliance
- Accurately identifying and gathering information for any hardware that needs to be ordered
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license with no major moving violations within the past three years
- Reliable transportation
- Proficiency with computers, smartphones, and other productivity tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to accuracy and quality
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field
- Ability to read and interpret Life Safety Plans and navigate independently within facilities
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience in professional customer service relations preferred
- Professional demeanor with strong internal and external communication abilities
