Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Full-Time Handyman to join our team and ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your broad range of skills in repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting across various systems and structures. As a key contributor, you will help create a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, residents, or clients by performing hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building interior systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical components.
- Repair or replace electrical equipment using schematics, wiring diagrams, and tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform carpentry tasks including repairs to doors, windows, furniture, or fixtures to maintain structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Maintain HVAC systems by troubleshooting issues, replacing filters, repairing ductwork, and ensuring optimal operation.
- Handle plumbing system maintenance and repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, or replacing fixtures.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for various repair tasks while adhering to safety standards.
- Assist with facilities equipment maintenance including welding, electrical work, painting (residential or maintenance painting), and schematics interpretation.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with residents or clients about repair timelines and procedures.
- Support facilities maintenance operations through proactive planning and quick response to repair requests.
- Lead small teams or coordinate with other technicians during larger projects when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair work, or facilities management within residential or commercial environments.
- Skilled in electrical work, plumbing repairs, carpentry, welding, HVAC system repair, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for understanding automated systems.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams confidently.
- Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and ohmmeters for electrical testing and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of building interior maintenance practices including painting and fixtures upkeep.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing repair projects or supervising junior staff is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with team members and clients.
