We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our steel fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, shape, and form metal components according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend & shape metal sheets and plates.
- Interpret and read blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to determine machine settings and material requirements.
- Perform machine adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality of fabricated parts.
- Conduct quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors to maintain precision.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and alert supervisor.
- Perform routine start up requirements and cleaning of press brake machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Complete production documentation and reports as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience operating press brake machines in a steel fabrication environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to frequently lift materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of items exceeding 75 pounds.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
Work Environment:
- Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Exposure to loud machinery, heat, and metal dust.
- Wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
