Leap Frog Nursery School Job Opening Position: Preschool Classroom Assistant Hours: 7:45am-3:15pm Salary: based on experience Position: school year Sept-June - flexible either 3 days or 5 days per week.
Overall Duties: Responsible for assisting three and four year old students in the classroom at the 5 STAR rated, Private, ACT 166 contracted early childhood education program at Leap Frog Nursery School. Qualifications: CPR & First Aid Certification, Mandatory Reporter Certificate, Vermont Department of CDD Orientation Certificate and ability to pass a Fingerprinting & Background check. Applicant must be willing to participate in yearly professional development training as required by the State of Vermont Child Development Division and STARS. Applicant must also, possess good communication and listening skills, the ability to work independently and proactively as well as act professionally while holding confidentiality as a priority. An energetic, nurturing, and engaging personality and a love for a child’s excitement in learning are a must. *Background in Early Childhood Education preferred with a minimum of a CDA or Associates degree in education or a related field but will train the right person.

Performs health care procedures which may include first aid, toileting or diapering. Assists students with personal health needs such as eating, hand washing and toileting. Works with individual or small groups of students on specific skills and/or projects. Assists with field trip supervision if needed. Monitor/assist students during snack time, free play time and outdoor activities. Manages students in accordance with the programs behavior management plan. Attend training programs to meet state and job requirements.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ability to communicate with and relate well to small children, staff, and parents. Ability to contribute to the positive social development of students by modeling age appropriate skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
