Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage transactions efficiently, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth store operations and enhancing the overall customer experience. Experience with POS systems and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to handle cash accurately. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base.
Duties
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and integrity
- Assist customers with product inquiries and product demos when needed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards, including stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Monitor inventory levels of register supplies and notify management of needs
- Follow phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries
- Support in supervising or mentoring new team members if applicable
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Experience in upselling, merchandising, and stock management is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in fast-paced settings
- Basic math proficiency for handling transactions accurately
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team

Pay: $10.50 - $13.00 per hour
