About Trust Screen Lab
Trust Screen Lab is a professional pre-employment screening and specimen collection facility located in Tempe, Arizona. We provide drug testing, alcohol testing, DNA testing, fingerprinting, DOT and non-DOT collections, and related employer compliance services.
We are seeking a relationship-driven Business Development Representative to build long-term partnerships with employers throughout Tempe, the East Valley, and surrounding Phoenix-area communities. The ideal candidate has demonstrated outbound prospecting and cold-calling experience and is comfortable developing new business through phone calls, email follow-up, referrals, networking, local business visits, and disciplined CRM management.
Position Summary
The Business Development Representative will identify, qualify, and develop employer accounts that need drug and alcohol testing, specimen collection, and related screening services. This hands-on growth role is responsible for managing the early stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through account opening and first-service activation, while maintaining accurate records and consistent follow-up.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable speaking with business owners and HR, safety, operations, and fleet leaders and who can represent Trust Screen Lab professionally in the office, in the field, and at local business and community events.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute a weekly prospecting plan for assigned territories and targeted industries.
· Prospect local employers through cold calls, email, referrals, networking, community events, and in-person business visits.
· Identify high-value prospects and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
· Build relationships with business owners and HR, safety, operations, and fleet leaders.
· Qualify prospects by identifying testing needs, hiring volume, decision-makers, timing, current providers, and service challenges.
· Schedule and conduct phone, virtual, and in-person discovery meetings with prospective employers.
· Present Trust Screen Lab's drug and alcohol testing, specimen collection, and related employer screening solutions clearly and professionally.
· Recommend appropriate services based on each employer's needs and prepare quotes or employer information packets as needed.
· Open qualified employer accounts and help coordinate activation of the customer's first collection or service.
· Follow up consistently until opportunities are won, lost, or formally closed.
· Maintain accurate CRM records, activity notes, follow-up dates, contact information, opportunity stages, and pipeline status.
· Meet or exceed established weekly and monthly activity and sales goals, including calls, business visits, qualified meetings, new employer accounts, and first collections completed.
· Conduct periodic check-ins with employer accounts to encourage repeat business, strengthen relationships, and request referrals when appropriate.
· Represent Trust Screen Lab professionally at local business, networking, and community events.
· Share customer feedback, competitive information, objections, and market opportunities with leadership.
· Coordinate with internal team members to support a smooth transition from signed account to active customer.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Demonstrated outbound prospecting and cold-calling experience is required.
· Two or more years of experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, outside sales, or a related customer-facing sales role is preferred.
· Strong communication, active listening, discovery, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
· Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable using CRM software to manage prospects, follow-up, and pipeline activity.
· A record of meeting sales or activity goals is preferred.
· Professional, dependable, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
· Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for office-based work and approved local travel.
· Experience in employer screening, occupational health, staffing, healthcare, HR, transportation, or safety services is a plus. A local business network or bilingual English and Spanish skills are also preferred.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, resilient, curious, organized, and results-focused. This person enjoys meeting new people, asking thoughtful questions, and turning consistent prospecting into long-term customer relationships. We are looking for someone who handles rejection professionally, follows through on commitments, welcomes coaching, and represents Trust Screen Lab with integrity, confidence, and reliability.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys building new relationships, is energized by prospecting, and takes pride in creating long-term business partnerships.
