- Senior Project Manager – Commercial ConstructionPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working for a general contractor and significant experience managing retail construction projects.
Experience with grocery store construction is strongly preferred, including new builds, renovations, expansions, and occupied-store projects.
This role is best suited for a seasoned construction professional who can manage multiple projects, coordinate internal and external teams, maintain budgets and schedules, and build strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, procurement, and subcontractor performance
- Lead projects involving retail, grocery, big-box, and other commercial construction
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, billing, and profitability
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement schedules
- Identify project risks and proactively resolve schedule, budget, and constructability issues
- Work closely with Superintendents and field personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality expectations
- Lead project meetings and provide clear communication regarding schedule, budget, and project status
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ensure projects comply with safety, quality, contractual, and client requirements
- Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business
Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience, with demonstrated experience managing projects independently
- Previous experience working for a general contractor strongly preferred
- Strong background in retail construction
- Grocery store construction experience strongly preferred
- Experience with new construction, renovations, remodels, expansions, and/or occupied retail environments
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, contracts, and cost controls
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated career stability and progressive responsibility

Compensation
Base Salary: $120,000–$140,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
