Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
1 Hour Lunch Break from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Pay: $16/HR
A busy specialty clinic is seeking an energetic and personable Scheduler to join their team! The ideal candidate will have previous medical office and scheduling experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast paced environment.
Scheduler Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls for a specialty clinic office
- Schedule appointments for physicians and additional departments
- Contact patients to schedule appointments and coordinate referrals
- Call patients regarding appointment changes and rescheduling needs
- Check out patients, collect copays, and schedule follow up appointments
- Verify insurance participation and ensure the clinic is contracted with the patient’s insurance prior to scheduling
- Maintain accurate patient information and appointment details
- Provide professional and friendly customer service to patients and staff
Scheduler Must Haves:
- Minimum 1 year of medical office experience
- Previous scheduling experience in a medical setting
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Typing speed of at least 45 WPM
- Experience answering multi line phones
- Knowledge of insurance verification and different insurance types
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional and energetic personality
Scheduler Nice to Haves:
- Experience working in a specialty clinic
- Familiarity with referrals and prior authorizations
- Experience collecting copays and checking out patients
- EMR/EHR experience
- Experience rescheduling appointments and managing provider schedules
- Bilingual abilities
- Strong problem solving skills
- Stable work history in medical administration
