Overview - Production Assembly Role - IMMEDIATE NEED!!
Note: This role will require you to be on your knees a lot right now. This will change in the future once they have developed a new way to do it, but for now, it will be a ton of bending and being on the knees.
Our client has an immediate need to fill these 2 openings on 1st shift. The Flex 1 Operator is an entry-level manufacturing position responsible for assembling and setting up components used in data center containment systems. This role involves building assemblies for shipment, operating production equipment, and working closely with technicians and group leaders in a small team environment. Operators will be cross-trained on multiple processes and equipment, including the use of an overhead crane. Strong teamwork, attention to quality, and safe work practices are essential for success in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety policies, including PPE and proper lifting techniques
- Assemble data center containment systems and related components for shipment
- Safely operate an overhead crane to move large components and assemblies (training provided)
- Start up and shut down equipment as required
- Load, unload, and feed materials into machines, carts, conveyors, and fixtures
- Assemble components accurately and efficiently to approved specifications
- Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure conformance to quality standards
- Identify and report defective parts or equipment issues to leads or management
- Mark parts for identification and move parts to the next operation or staging area
- Read and interpret gauges, work instructions, routings, blueprints, and visual aids
- Record production data and log in/out of jobs using Epicor ERP
- Clean and maintain work area, including sweeping, mopping, and debris removal
- Scrape waste material from machines and dispose properly
- Conserve materials and supplies to minimize waste
- Train on additional equipment and processes to become a multi-skilled operator
- Assist in training new employees as needed
- Recommend tooling or process improvements to increase efficiency
- Work closely with a small team, communicating effectively and supporting teammates
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Experience with hand and power tools preferred
- Basic math, reading, and communication skills required
- Ability to work well in a small team environment
- Willingness to learn overhead crane operation and multiple assembly processes
- Entry-level position — training provided
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and move parts and assemblies as required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
