We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our team at Smuggler’s at North Shore, located on Hess Lake! The Dishwasher will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and throughout the property, by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and stored. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the dishwasher to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Sort and rinse dishes, glasses, silverware, and other items before loading them into the dishwasher.
- Monitor dishwasher machines to ensure they are operating efficiently and make adjustments as needed.
- Remove clean dishes from the dishwasher and properly store them in designated areas.
- Hand wash items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher, such as large pots and pans.
- Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as peeling vegetables, when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, including clearing and sanitizing workstations, sinks, and countertops.
- Assist in deep cleaning kitchen equipment as needed, including but not limited to, wood-fired pizza oven, stovetops, grills, fryers, and other cooking appliances.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Assist in breaking down boxes and maintaining organized storage spaces and walk-ins.
- Follow proper safety and sanitation procedures at all times, including the handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assist with maintaining inventory and notifying the kitchen team of any shortage or damaged items.
- Collaborate with other restaurant staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during busy periods.
- Follow instructions and meet all designated shift responsibilities as assigned by the kitchen management team.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of dishes and utensils.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
