All roles are paid positions, emphasizing the value of your essential contributions. Our agency is in need of an aide to staff an overnight shift case for a lady that is 92 years old with Dementia for the following schedule:
3 days a week 9pm-9am( Sunday 9pm-9am,
wed 9pm-9am, Friday 9pm-9am)
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and hygiene
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral support strategies
- Assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts; perform heavy lifting as needed to prevent injury
- Help with meal preparation and nutritional needs while maintaining proper food safety standards; assist with laundry and light cleaning to promote a healthy environment
- Document all patient interactions and medical records thoroughly in compliance with HIPAA privacy standards
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare environments
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems for accurate documentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology, catheter care, hospice care, and end-of-life support practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining patient dignity and respect
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and family members
- Certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and other relevant safety training preferred
- Understanding of home & community care regulations to ensure compliant service delivery
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and organizing living spaces to promote a safe environment
