American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Wound/Ostomy Care (CWON/CWOCN) for a day-shift, Mon–Fri contract at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of wound care/ostomy experience and active WOCN certification.

Inpatient, acute care hospital setting

Wound Care and Ostomy specialty unit within Surgery Nursing Administration
-
Caseload includes complex surgical and traumatic wounds, ostomies, and related skin conditions
-
Procedures include various dressing changes, wound VAC application and dressing, wound assessment, measurement, and classification
-
Day shift, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, no call, and no holiday coverage required

Epic EMR experience preferred
-
Active RN license — MD license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing certification required (CWON or CWOCN)

Minimum 2 years of wound care and ostomy nursing experience required

Must have hands-on ostomy care experience

Experience at a comparable facility size (500+ bed hospital) required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Active licensure and 1 professional reference required for consideration

Specializes in the assessment, treatment, and management of complex wounds, ostomies, and skin conditions

Skill set must encompass all types of surgical and traumatic wounds
-
Responsible for patient teaching related to wound and ostomy care
-
1–2 prior travel assignments preferred

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Central Nursing Orientation is not required for RNs in this role
