Job Summary
The Chef will be responsible for providing nutritious and appealing menus for residents, employees and visitors at Austin Pines Ranch. The Chef will report to the Facility Director.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Meal Planning and Preparation
- Preparing and cooking nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
- Preparing Dietician Approved menu options
- Keeping a clean and tidy workspace in the kitchen
- Ensure meals are served on schedule
- Curation of Menus
Food Safety and Sanitation
- Monitor food temperatures during storage, preparation, and service
- Maintain compliance with health department and company standards
Operations
- Shopping for weekly groceries and stocking the Company fridges
- Monitor food quality and consistency
Requirements and Qualifications
- Food Handlers Certification
- Food Manager Certification
- Culinary Degree Preferred
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years’ experience as a residential or commercial chef
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of health department standards
- Able to work well with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
- Complete TB testing upon being hired
- Complete certifications in HIPAA, PCI/Aggression, Infection Control
Physical Demands
- Standing for prolonged periods of time
- Physically able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds unassisted
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
