We are seeking experienced Managers to supervise and provide quality control for large federal performance and/or financial statement audit engagements, examinations, and evaluations. The selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring engagement goals are met, reviewing workpapers, providing technical direction, and ensuring engagement deliverables are ready for review by higher-level managers and directors.
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area / Hybrid
Clearance: Top Secret or “Q” Clearance Preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise large federal performance and/or financial statement audits, examinations, and evaluations.
- Ensure engagement goals and objectives are met and audit work follows applicable standards and regulations.
- Provide quality control oversight for assigned engagement activities and deliverables.
- Review necessary audit workpapers based on engagement risk and complexity.
- Provide technical direction to engagement team members when appropriate.
- Monitor engagement progress and coordinate team activities to meet established schedules and deadlines.
- Review audit documentation, testing results, findings, analyses, and other engagement deliverables.
- Ensure deliverables produced by the engagement team are complete, accurate, and ready for review by higher-level Managers and Directors.
- Coordinate with client personnel and engagement team members to resolve issues and support successful completion of audit objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation may be substituted for the CPA designation only in the case of Performance audits.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing or supervising large federal financial statement audits, examinations, and evaluations.
- Demonstrated experience supervising federal audit engagements and engagement team members.
- Strong knowledge of federal auditing standards, financial management requirements, and applicable accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to review audit workpapers based on engagement risk and complexity.
- Must possess or be capable of obtaining a “Q” clearance.
