Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to toddler and preschool developmental stages, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct ongoing child development assessments to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate hands-on activities, play-based learning, and standardized testing when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates.
- Ensure classroom safety by adhering to first aid and CPR protocols, mandated reporting laws, and child welfare standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan special activities that support early intervention efforts and inclusive education for children with special needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or private school setting; classroom experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to plan lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and social-emotional learning.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus.
- Knowledge of early intervention strategies and special education practices to support diverse learners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an inclusive environment aligned with early childhood education standards.
