Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems across a range of heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignments, shocks & struts, and HVAC system servicing to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of components during repairs or upgrades; support equipment repair projects as needed.
- Trailer body repair, overhead and swing door repairs, trailer refrigeration maintenance and repair.
Requirements
- Proven experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and diesel mechanics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy duty diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, hydraulic systems, electrical systems repair, air brake systems, alignment procedures, and suspension work.
- Ability to operate power tools safely; experience with welding, soldering, tire service equipment and other maintenance tools is preferred.
- Valid Class "A" CDL license or equivalent certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not already held.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
