Sales Representative — $80,000–$150,000+ First-Year Potential
Sports-Minded Sales Culture | Life Insurance & Financial Services | Uncapped Commission | Leadership & Business Ownership Path
About Southwestern Legacy
At Southwestern Legacy, we help individuals and families protect what they’ve worked hard to build through life insurance, retirement strategies, and financial protection solutions.
We are proud to be an official partner of Nashville SC of Major League Soccer, and we are continuing to expand our team throughout Nashville, Middle Tennessee, and beyond.
But we aren't simply looking to hire salespeople.
Our goal is to develop high-performing professionals who become experts in life insurance, sales, leadership, and ultimately building a business of their own.
Our culture attracts competitive, driven people who want their career to be tied to their performance—not limited by a salary, corporate hierarchy, or predetermined promotion schedule.
Many of our top performers come from backgrounds in college athletics, competitive sales, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other performance-driven environments.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for motivated Sales Representatives who want to build a long-term career in the financial services industry.
This is a in-office phone-based sales position. Our agents work alongside other high-performing sales professionals in a competitive, team-oriented environment built around training, accountability, mentorship, and development.
We believe being in the office—especially while developing—is a major advantage. You'll have access to live coaching, experienced producers, daily training, and a team of people working toward similar goals.
As agents become experienced and demonstrate consistent performance, there may be opportunities for greater schedule and location flexibility.
You'll work with individuals and families who have expressed interest in learning more about financial protection.
Rather than traditional cold calling or door-to-door prospecting, our agents have access to lead programs and marketing systems designed to connect them with consumers who have requested information.
You will learn how to:
- Build relationships with prospective clients over the phone
- Understand a family's financial situation and protection needs
- Educate clients on life insurance and financial protection strategies
- Recommend appropriate solutions
- Develop professional sales and communication skills
- Build and manage your own book of business
- Eventually recruit, mentor, and develop a team if leadership is your goal
No previous insurance experience is required. We provide training, mentorship, systems, and ongoing development to help you learn the business.
What You'll DoSales & Client Development
- Connect with prospective clients who have requested information about financial protection
- Conduct phone and virtual appointments with individuals and families
- Learn how to identify client needs through effective questions and conversation
- Educate clients on life insurance, retirement, and financial protection options
- Recommend solutions based on each client's individual situation
- Follow a proven process for scheduling, presenting, following up, and closing business
- Maintain relationships with clients after the initial sale
Training & Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing sales and product training
- Work directly with experienced mentors and leaders
- Develop your knowledge of life insurance and financial protection
- Improve your communication, sales, and relationship-building skills
- Track personal activity, production, and performance
- Learn the habits and disciplines required to perform consistently at a high level
Leadership & Business Growth
For individuals who perform and want more responsibility, this position can develop into much more than an individual sales role.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Mentor and develop new agents
- Recruit and build a team
- Earn additional income based on team production
- Develop leadership and management skills
- Build a scalable business within our organization
- Pursue long-term agency-building and business ownership opportunities
You can build a career here without building a team—but for those who want to lead, there is no predetermined ceiling on how far you can grow.
Who We're Looking For
We care less about having the perfect résumé and more about finding people with the right character, work ethic, and competitive mindset.
Strong candidates tend to be:
- Coachable — willing to learn a proven system before trying to reinvent it
- Competitive — motivated by goals, improvement, and winning
- Hardworking — willing to consistently put in the activity required to succeed
- Self-motivated — capable of performing without someone constantly looking over their shoulder
- Disciplined — able to follow through on commitments and maintain consistent habits
- Accountable — takes ownership of both successes and failures
- Growth-oriented — actively wants to improve professionally and personally
- Entrepreneurial — excited by the idea of building something rather than simply collecting a paycheck
We especially value candidates with a history of success or achievement in athletics, sales, leadership, business, military service, or other competitive environments.
Experience
Previous experience in insurance is not required.
Experience in any of the following can be helpful:
- Sales
- College or competitive athletics
- Leadership positions
- Entrepreneurship
- Customer-facing roles
- Performance-based careers
- Military experience
What matters most is your ability to learn, work, compete, communicate, and consistently execute.
Compensation & Career Growth
This is an independent contractor (1099), commission-based position with uncapped earning potential.
What We Offer
- Uncapped commission
- Typical first-year earning potential of $80,000–$150,000+ based on performance
- Performance-based bonuses and advancement
- Renewal and residual income opportunities
- Additional compensation opportunities through leadership and team production
- Access to lead programs and marketing systems
- Full initial training
- Ongoing sales and product development
- Direct mentorship from experienced leaders
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to work remotely after the initial training period or continue working in person
- Opportunity to advance into leadership, management, and business ownership
Because this is performance-based compensation, income is not guaranteed. Results depend heavily on activity, consistency, skill development, and individual performance.
Our Culture
Life Pros is built around people who want to perform at a high level and continually get better.
We believe great salespeople are developed through a combination of:
Knowledge. Communication. Sales skill. Discipline. Accountability. Repetition.
We train hard, compete hard, celebrate results, and expect people to take ownership of their career.
If you're looking for a traditional 9-to-5 position where your income and advancement are determined primarily by tenure, this probably isn't the right environment.
If you're looking for an opportunity where your performance can directly influence your income, responsibility, and career trajectory, you may be a strong fit.
What Success Can Look Like
Our goal isn't simply to teach someone how to sell an insurance policy.
We want to develop professionals who understand:
- How to communicate with clients
- How to sell ethically and effectively
- How life insurance and financial protection work
- How to manage their own production
- How to operate with an entrepreneurial mindset
- How to lead and develop other people
- How to eventually build and manage a team or business
For the right person, this can become a long-term career—not simply another sales job.
