Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation by adhering to proper food handling procedures and cleaning protocols
- Assist with menu planning by preparing daily specials and ensuring ingredient availability
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Slice, chop, and portion ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipe specifications
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably as a line cook or culinary aide
- Knowledge of food industry safety standards, including food safety management and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and catering experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced setting
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Culinary experience that includes meal preparation, food industry best practices, and attention to detail in recipe adherence
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
