Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Childcare Site Supervisor to oversee after-school programs for school-aged children on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood development, skilled in behavior management, and capable of creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating activities, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to support children's growth and well-being.
Duties
- Supervise and support staff working with school-aged children, ensuring high-quality care and educational activities before & after school
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety checks
- Manage behavior using positive discipline techniques and classroom management strategies
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and daily activities
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and organizational policies
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special requirements
- Assist in training staff on childcare best practices, early childhood education principles, and behavior management techniques
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom environments
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and early childhood education practices
- Must be CPR/First Aid Certified within 60 days of hire along with other child safety certifications
- Experience caring for school-aged children
- Ability to work effectively with children who have disabilities or special needs
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff and manage group dynamics
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Background in caregiving or behavior management preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and learning
- Flexibility to work part-time hours during before/after-school hours during the school year and full time in the summer/school breaks.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
