About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established civil contractor with a strong Central Ohio presence and a growing backlog of site development work across commercial, industrial, data center, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
They are seeking a Civil Sitework Superintendent to lead field operations for earthwork, grading, underground utilities, stormwater, paving, concrete flatwork, and related site infrastructure scopes.
This is a strong opportunity for a field leader who understands production, sequencing, crew coordination, safety, and the pace of civil site development work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on civil sitework projects from mobilization through completion
- Manage scopes including earthwork, mass grading, excavation, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, underground utilities, paving, concrete flatwork, erosion control, and related site infrastructure
- Coordinate crews, foremen, equipment, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project management teams
- Plan and sequence work to maintain schedule, productivity, safety, and quality expectations
- Review civil drawings, specifications, site plans, utility layouts, grading plans, and project documentation
- Track field production, quantities, manpower, equipment, materials, and daily progress
- Identify and resolve field issues related to utilities, access, drainage, grading, site logistics, and project sequencing
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers, General Superintendents, owners, engineers, inspectors, municipalities, and general contractors
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, including excavation, trenching, equipment operation, traffic control, and jobsite hazard awareness
- Support project closeout, punch list completion, as-builts, and final site turnover
Qualifications
- 5+ years of field leadership experience in civil construction, sitework, earthwork, excavation, utilities, paving, or related infrastructure work
- Experience leading crews or managing field operations on commercial, industrial, municipal, data center, or private development sitework projects
- Strong understanding of grading, excavation, underground utilities, storm/sanitary/waterline, paving, concrete, and erosion control
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, utility plans, specifications, and project schedules
- Strong knowledge of field production, sequencing, equipment coordination, safety, and quality control
- Experience working with inspectors, engineers, municipalities, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal PM teams
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license required

Pay: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
