Overview
We are seeking an experienced, assertive Litigation Attorney to join our growing firm serving Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade Counties. Led by an attorney who has handled thousands of criminal cases, our firm has built a stellar reputation across South Florida for providing high-end, aggressive, and consistent defense representation.
Duties
- Prepare for and lead court proceedings, including bond hearings, arraignments, evidentiary motions, depositions, and jury trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to build strong defense strategies.
- Prepare and file legal motions, pleadings, and briefs with precision and clarity.
- Develop case strategies through detailed trial preparation, including evidence review and witness coordination.
- Represent clients in court depositions, hearings, and trials with compelling advocacy and professionalism.
- Negotiate plea agreements and other resolutions with prosecutors to achieve favorable results for clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed of case progress and legal options.
- Manage case files efficiently using our in-house legal case management system, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Florida Bar admission (Required). Federal Licensure is a plus.
- Experience: 3–7 years of criminal defense experience required. Previous public sector experience (Public Defender or State Attorney) and proven jury trial experience are preferred.
- Mobility: Ability to reliably commute to our South Florida office locations and travel to courts across the tri-county area.
- Skills: Excellent legal drafting skills, mastery of Legal Research, and meticulous attention to detail regarding case files.
- Strong understanding of criminal procedural law and courtroom procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to draft legal motions, pleadings, and conduct legal writing with clarity.
- Experience handling court depositions, trial preparation, and client communication effectively.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with a passion for legal advocacy and client service excellence.
- Experience in Immigration Law, or the willingness to learn is a plus.
