LBAPS is a growing behavioral health organization dedicated to providing high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.
The Medical Biller will be responsible for managing all aspects of medical billing, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up for ABA and behavioral health services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in working with commercial insurance plans and Medicaid programs.
Responsibilities
- Submit and manage electronic and paper claims for ABA and behavioral health services.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Monitor claim status and resolve billing issues promptly.
- Follow up on denied, rejected, and unpaid claims.
- Post payments, adjustments, and reconciliations accurately.
- Work with insurance companies regarding authorizations, claim corrections, and appeals.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines.
- Review and improve billing workflows to maximize collections.
- Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate documentation and billing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of medical billing experience, preferably in ABA, behavioral health, or mental health services.
- Strong knowledge of CPT coding related to behavioral health services.
- Experience billing Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and managed care organizations.
- Proven experience with denial management and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Familiarity with ABA authorization and billing requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software.
