Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient visits.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Support patient service activities by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing clear instructions on procedures or medication use.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers by updating medical records and assisting with insurance or billing inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols in hospital or outpatient settings.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records management.
- Experience working in medical or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
