enior In-House Litigation Attorney
We are a growing Texas real estate investment company seeking an experienced Texas-licensed attorney (10+ years) to serve as in-house counsel. The attorney will represent the company and its affiliated entities in a broad range of litigation, transactional, and real estate matters.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate should have significant experience in several of the following areas:
- Real estate litigation
- Commercial and residential real estate transactions
- Ad valorem property tax protests and litigation
- Eminent domain and condemnation
- Easement, title, and boundary disputes
- Municipal and land use matters
- Contract drafting and litigation
- Civil litigation in Texas state courts
- Appeals
- Federal court litigation (admission preferred)
- Evictions and Justice Court matters
The attorney will:
- Manage cases from pre-litigation through trial and appeal.
- Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and legal opinions.
- Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials throughout Texas as needed.
- Manage outside counsel when appropriate.
- Advise company leadership on legal strategy, transactions, and risk management.
- Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and management of the company's real estate portfolio.
- Handle a diverse range of legal matters involving commercial and residential real estate investments.
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience.
- Strong litigation, negotiation, legal writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- Federal court admission is preferred but not required.
Compensation
We offer a competitive base salary plus a substantial performance-based bonus. Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall value brought to the company.
