Position Title: MarketingCommunications Intern (Special Events andCommunications)
Reports To: Director of Special Events and Communications
Location: 496 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ 07649
Internship Period: September 14, 2026 to December 4, 2026
Hours: Must complete 150-200 hours in 10 weeks
Hourly Rate: $20/hr
Primary Function: The MarketingCommunications Intern will support Special Events and Communications in promoting NJFH's programs, events, and mission. This is a hands-on Fall opportunity for a creative and motivated student to gain real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, social media, storytelling, and community engagement. The intern will play a key role in helping share the stories of NJFH members, programs, and impact with the community, donors, and partners.

Completes all required documentation/paperwork accurately and within established time frames.
Essential Functions:

Assist in creating content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and newsletters

Help design digital and print marketing materials such as flyers, graphics, and event promotions

Support photography and videography at programs and events (when appropriate)

Draft and edit website updates, blog posts, and email communications

Conduct research on marketing trends, audience engagement, and peer organizations

Assist with event promotion and fundraising campaign materials

Help track social media analytics and engagement metrics

Maintain organized digital files of photos, graphics, and marketing assets

Support other communications and events projects as needed
Requirements:
-
Current student or recent graduate (within one year of graduation) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related field

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation

Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred

Interest in nonprofit work, community engagement, or human services

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
