Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage all front desk responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical collections efficiently using Dentrix Ascend
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental office management software and coordinate patient intake processes
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear information and scheduling assistance
- Manage medical office tasks such as e-filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records
- Assist with insurance verification processes
- Support clinic operations by handling medical administrative support duties like appointment reminders and patient follow-up calls
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical or dental front office setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental; experience with Ascend or similar platforms is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review procedures to safeguard patient information
- Ability to perform dental coding accurately for billing purposes
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software
- Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with insurance verification processes is highly valued
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
